Urban Concert Hall of Chengdu, located at the heart of the downtown, near the Sichuan Conservatory of Music, is currently under decoration and equipment installation.

It will be put into service by the end of this year, and the first performance will be the New Year's Concert 2019, said an official from the Chengdu City Construction Investment Management Group Co., Ltd.

The hall is expected to be the largest one of its kind in west China and the third one in the country. Upon completion, it will primarily cover a floor area of about 23,330 square meters, encompassing a 1600-seat opera house, a 1400-seat concert hall, a 400-seat theater, a 200-seat chamber hall, and an underground parking garage.

The style of the hall's external model incorporates local traditional folk art of bamboo weaving. When the internal lights are on at night, the building looks like a gigantic bamboo woven lantern.
