The 2018 Chengdu Panda Marathon, co-held by the Chinese Athletic Association and Chengdu Municipal People’s Government, took place March 18 in northwest Chengdu's Dujiangyan City.
With over 30,000 runners from home and abroad, the event, consisting of a 42.195-km marathon, a 21.0975-km half marathon and a 8-km fun run, saw the highest number of participants since it was launched in 2015.
Three runners from Kenya swept the medals in the men's marathon, and Luo Chuan from China won the first place in the women's marathon. Guan Siyang from China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region became the champion of the men's half marathon.
Along the track there are many famous scenic spots and attractions, including the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, Panda Valley, Mt. Qingcheng, Mt. Longmen and Jinma River Greenway. The participants were able to enjoy the beautiful natural and human landscapes while running.
